The five main aims of an electrical installation condition report are:
Faulty electrics are responsible for over 12,000 fires and electrical shock incidents in the UK each year.
Therefore, it is fundamental to ensure your electrics are properly installed and up to date, in line with the BS7671 standards.
If you are a Landlord or a Homeowner (looking to buy or sell), it is your responsibility to make sure the property is technically safe and secure.
From 1st July 2020 Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) became mandatory in the private rented sector for new and renewed tenancies in England and will become mandatory for all existing tenancies on 1st April 2021.
If you create a new tenancy, or renew an existing one, on or after 1st July 2020, you will need a satisfactory EICR.
All properties in the private rented sector will need an EICR from 1st April 2021.
Letting, agents are required to continue to provide safe homes during the COVID19 pandemic.
